Water Solutions
The Hydroflow HS38 is the most well known and established of Hydropaths product range.
The HS38 is the domestic model designed for the average sized house of up to three/four bathrooms.
The HS38 is also used for the small installation like the catering tea urn, or laboratory stills, which are localised areas that particularly suffer from limescale.
The HS38 fits pipe work of up to 38mm outside diameter, is fitted to the cold feed of the heating source, and like all our product range, the red light shows that the unit is working 24 hours a day.
The HS38 is fitted as an OEM for boiler manufacturers and companies throughout the world.

How limescale builds up
Limescale builds up where there is a temperature change, a pressure change, and where there is water turbulence
Some places we find limescale at home
• Washing machines
• Dishwashers
• Gas boilers
• Electric water heaters
• Solar panels
• Pipes, all kinds of pipe material (especially metal)

What does it do?
Protects the water system from energy sapping limescale even when there’s no water flow.
How does it work? Randomly varying electric fields are induced into the water. These fields propagate through the water in the entire plumbing system. The result is the production of nuclei everywhere in the water system.
When the water is heated the resulting precipitate that usually deposits on hot surfaces, grows in suspension and develops as a crystal on the nuclei and is then washed away in the flow.
The fields treat the water both up and down stream and will be transmitted into the central heating system to treat the primary water. The treated water is normally able to dissolve existing scale in just a few months.
What are the benefits?
With the rise of household energy prices, installing the Hydroflow is not only a ecological decision but an economic one too. Approximately 1mm of limescale can decrease the efficiency of your boiler by 10%. Limescale causes wasted electricity and gas as heating elements
become increasingly ineffective. Installing Hydroflow protects valuable
household equipment and appliances, and increases longevity of life.
Hydroflow soon pays for itself in the energy savings, and costs very
little a year to run.
Does it need any plumbing?
No - it simply clips to existing pipework, without any dismantling
whatsoever. The HS38 fits pipe work of up to 38mm outside diameter.
Where does it go?
Preferably installed on the cold feed to the domestic hot water cylinder
in a traditional system (usually in the airing cupboard).

How Does It Work?
The Hydropath Technology system induces an electric current at AM frequencies (between 100 and 200 KHZ) up and down the water flow for ranges of hundreds of meters. The transmission is carried out with random breaks in fading sinus waves so that the entire range of salts in the water can be treated. The Hydropath Technology electric field produces crystal nuclei in a saturated solution, as well as in unsaturated solutions. This process attracts charged ions and forms stable crystal nuclei.

Testimonial:
A family-centered apartment complex located in the heart of Silicon Valley, California was experiencing a number of difficulties with their water. This particular complex has 121 apartments spread over 10 buildings where 8 of those buildings have their own 100 gallon water heaters while the remaining 2 buildings have two water heaters each. The water supply comes from the City of Santa Clara and is drawn from a well that has at least 22 grains of hardness which can rise depending on the time of year and dryness of the climate. Less rain means harder water.
The water hardness coming through this apartment complex caused numerous maintenance problems, which ranged from leaking pipes to the replacement of water heaters on a 3 year cycle. Due to the age of the buildings, the leaks were increasingly causing water service shutdowns which highly inconvenienced the tenants.
In order to find a much needed solution, the leaks were analyzed and were discovered to mostly occur in the return lines from the end of the buildings to the water heaters. Further research concluded that the calcium in the water was being crystallized inside the water heaters and circulated throughout the plumbing system. Because of the 24-hour movement through the return lines in the buildings, these calcium crystals were acting as an abrasive agent in the pipes which was breaking down the water system.
After recognizing the problems, the research began to find a resolution to all of the water issues at the apartment complex. Two products were found that could possibly solve all the problems. One was a re-circulating pump that would act upon demand for hot water instead of having the continuous pumps currently being used. The second product found would be able to stop the formation of calcium crystals – this product is Hydroflow.
The Hyrdoflow units were deployed throughout the apartment complex in August of 2009 and the results have been extraordinary. Two water heaters that were scheduled for replacement because of excessive lime scale coating the insides and heating elements of the units are no longer planned to be changed do to the improvements. Though the scale buildup caused loud noises and long waits for hot water, which caused higher utility rates, the Hydroflow units were installed and after two months, the water heaters were drained and amazingly, the insides of the water heaters were completely free of scale. The noises and the number of leaks on the return lines had also reduced significantly.
An Aquaklear unit, from Hydroflow, was also installed on the swimming pool at the apartment complex. The pool, which is heavily trafficked during the summer, required excessive amounts of chlorine which led tenants to complain about eye soreness and the chlorine smell. After three days from installation, the Aquaklear unit, specifically designed for swimming pools, had the pool water looking crystal clear without the smell. The tenants noticed the results and reported the pleasant experience swimming now without sore eyes and chlorine smell. The Aquaklear was then tested by taking it off the swimming pool to see the results and within three days, the pool had returned to its previous state.
Before the Hydroflow units were installed, the total maintenance cost to repair and replace water heaters in an average year was as high as $52,000. After spending $17,000 in Hydroflow products, the maintenance costs have reduced dramatically and no water heaters have even been considered to be replaced because of the disappearance of lime scale.
After the deployment of the Hydroflow units, this apartment complex is pleased to recommend the products and agrees that Hydroflow has the most viable solution to hard water and scaling problems within a water system. These products have undoubtedly saved us thousands of dollars in maintenance and created happier tenants. The water heating systems no longer need maintenance because the product is keeping our pipes and water heaters free of scale..
